about

Louise Farrell’s work embraces both the darkness and the divine that coexist in ecology and womanhood. Whether she’s highlighting the absurdity of gender roles or drawing attention to the subtle and intricate beauty of the natural world, her masterful use of imagery invites the viewer into a realm that is both thought-provoking and immersive. Her love of nature and her deep fascination with mythical interpretations of the human experience are intertwined in her art; her work is grounded in the physical realm, yet transcendent in its expression.

Farrell received her BA from Barat College and her MFA from Massachusetts College of Art and Design. Although she is a sculptor first and foremost, her skillset as an interdisciplinary artist is expansive and diverse. “Fate,” her most recent work, is a large hanging piece that examines the interwoven forces of life and death, and the delicate relationship between personal autonomy and divine providence.
